Updating Freyas rituals

There is a question that has been raised by many people, including myself that being: "How do the old religions, including Asatru, correlate to today's modern world"?' My answer to this question, which may not be very popular, is that in their old outdated form, they do not!

I support this opinion because I believe in cosmic law that says the universe is not static. It is ever changing. Which means that we are supposed to adapt to these changes and change ourselves. Life itself is supposed to be an evolution, a refining and rendering process.

Astrologically we have moved from the last 2000 years which were the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius. During the Age of Pisces we needed intermediaries or go betweens between ourselves and the god forces. These intermediaries were godi's, ministers, priests or what have you. Now during the Age of Aquarius we have reached the advanced stage of "I KNOW!" Which means that we have a direct link between ourselves and the god forces. We have outgrown the rituals of old. It is like being ready for college and preferring to stay in kindergarten. Sure it may seem comfortable and cozy, like all things tried and true. But >B>growth can only come through change.

A better question I think we should ask ourselves is: "How can I adapt my belief of Freya and the runes to modern day spirituality?" Now there is a question which I will try to answer.

We are living in exciting times! With the discovery of Quantum Physics we are discovering that there is very little or no separation between spirituality and science. Quantum Physics is finally recognizing the we, through our thoughts and feelings have pretty much attracted our own relationships. financial situations, health, good days, bad days, etc. Which means we are genuine co-creators.

Now you might ask yourself: "Where does Freya fit in here?" My answer to this, "I believe she still does!" I think freya and the other gods/goddesses as speaking to different facets or archetypes of my higher self. It is my concept of the the gods/goddesses that enables me to tap into the vibrations of my higher consciousness of awareness. Freya to me still epitomizes love, beauty, prosperity and magick; ie, the ability to effect change in my life.

Now we have to question if the runes are applicable in modern ritual. I believe the runes fit nicely into the spirituality of today! We are energy beings who respond to vibrations as well as emitting vibrations. The runes are symbols of intent Odin, Freya, Thor etc. But much more than this, the runes intoned at the proper frequency, attract the desired intent be it love, wealth, good health, etc.

Lastly, we are left with the question: "Is it still beneficial to come together as a group focusing on Freya and the Norse gods/goddesses as well as the runes? I would say yes! Because group consciousness is able to magnify our thoughts, feelings and prayers. What better way to add power to our new rituals than by gathering together as a group!

I genuniely believe that our Freya rituals should be updated and continue to be unpdated at periodic intervals. Rather than using rituals that remain old and outworn. Great power and energy is brought about by focusing our attention on new things. What better way to breath new life into Freya and Odin and the other gods/goddesses, and also into the runes than by constantly refining their meaning and making them a fresh force in today's modern life!
